C\u00e1ndido Luis Garc\u00eda Sanju\u00e1n propietario del hotel, ten\u00eda la concesi\u00f3n administrativa para uso particular de la zona mar\u00edtimo-terrestre de delante de su establecimiento y encarg\u00f3 a Manrique la obra. El resultado gust\u00f3 tanto que el Ayuntamiento decidi\u00f3 aplicar el mismo estilo a toda la zona.
